Cannot Do It

Here's a quick tip for authors:

When you are writing, can't doesn't stand out. Can't is used in just a regular sentence and doesn't mean anything special. But when you want to stress that can't, you need to write it as cannot. Why? Because there's a bigger emphasis put on the word, though they mean the same thing. Read these sentences.

I can't do it, Joe.

I cannot do it, Joe. (This sentence is the equivalent to using italics.)

I can't find anything today.

I cannot find anything today. (There it is again.)
